#AASG30daychallenge day 30

28th August 2016

Wow! It's the last day. It's all finished. Today I found the kangaroos had obviously hopped to another paddock. Ha ha! As much as I love kangas, I really didn't like "them", so they had to go. I re-did the background where they were, sponged through a stencil, some red & gold paint in the background of the top half, touched up some of the trunks, painted in wild red poppies & clumps of sour sobs. Put some birds in the trees, added brick pattern to the chimneys, & touched up paint here & there in the foreground. I eventually had to make myself stop. So I then splattered the whole canvas with black paint & then white paint. Done. I had to use a flash to take the photo as it was late, & the roof has a shine to it that isn't really there.

#AASG30daychallenge day29

27th August 2016

Today I worked on the kangaroos, re-did the flowers in front of the house, & decided to have an orange tree in the pot by the door. sponged through a stencil a little more pink & purple in the foreground.

#AASG30daychallenge day 28

Today I outlined all the outside edges of the tree trunks, as well as the branches & twigs, using a fine tip white gel pen.

#AASG30daychallenge day 26

23rd August 2016

Today I finished off the 2 deer. I'm still not happy with them, but they will do. Then re-did the grass around their feet.

#AASG30daychallenge day 25

21st August 2016

It doesn't look much different today as what I did isn't very noticeable. I added some umber paint to the trees on the right side of the canvas, as they had less on them than the left. And I finished all the black outlining of the trees & branches with a paint pen. I have avoided looking at the deer. I'll tackle them when I've got more time in the day.

#AASG30daychallenge day 24

20th August 2016

Well! Two not finished, not happy with, deers appeared today. I have spent hours on them & I don't like them. I've gone over & over them trying to get the colour right. The one on the right has had the most done to it. I just can't get the face right, I have done it about 10 times, & I will be doing it again. It has looked like a dog at one stage & a lion at another stage.

#AASG30daychallenge day 23

16th August 2016

Today I made a gravel path. First I sponged with Dina Wakley Midnight paint, then over sponged that with grey. Then added dots of dark grey, light grey & white, till I was happy with how it looked. I used a cotton bud to make the dots. There's a lot of dots there. Then I stamped a pot on a piece of painted book paper & glued it by the door. Stamped flowers with lilac & purple, & leaves with green in the pot & along the front of the house. I added green paint in the foreground to cover most of the blue, & stencilled & sponged with purple.

#AASG30daychallenge day 22

15th August 2016

Today I shortened  the trunk on the middle tree on the left side, This set it back into the grassy area, & I like this much better, than them all in a row. Then I re-did the foreground to look like the rest.

#AASG30daychallenge day 21

14th August 2016

Today I finished the bark on the trees, & removed the branches that were in front of the door & window, & re-painted the house. I like this colour better, just have to put the woodgrain look back. I added more grass to the canvas on the right side of the path & around the trees. Did some tiny bits of sponging in the background to use up any leftover paint.

#AASG30daychallenge day 20

13th August 2016

After a few days break, I got down to business again. I started on the house, removed the tree trunk that was in front of the path, & re-did the rock border. I drew in a faint horizon line with brown pen, & extended the tree trunk on the far left to bring it down to the line. I mostly worked on the left side of the path, where I painted grass at the bottom of the trees & house, & in numerous places elsewhere. I'm loving the grassy areas, but I'm not keen on the house as yet. I also sponged through a stencil the leftover red paint here & there. With a black paint pen I did a little bit of outlining on the trees as well. I scratched into the paint on the house walls to make it look like boards, but it's not showing up, so will go over it with a pen.

#AASG30daychallenge day 19

9th August 2016

Today I decided to be a bit braver & add a cabin in the woods. I used black gesso to define the shape, going over some of the trunks where needed. Painted in a path with a rock border & sponged & stencilled some green/yellow in the lower half, with a touch of aqua & terracotta. Not real happy with the path yet. I think I need to get rid of the tree in front of the path & bring the rocks down.

A busy day today so I had only 5 minutes to spare. I put out a small amount of Umber paint & swiped it on the trees till I ran out.

AASG30daychallenge day 17

7th August 2016

Added a little more Umber to the tree trunks today.
......................................................................................................................................

And mucked around with distress inks & stencils & made some backgrounds for cards.

#AASG30daychallenge day 16

6th August 2016

Today I added branches to the trees & extended some of the trunks. I also stamped with a text stamp here & there, & stamped a few little tiny birds in the trees. They aren't showing up as yet. As well, I added some torn text that had been stamped on tissue paper. I placed it randomly & then stencilled over it with aqua, blue, terracotta & gold, to push it into the background. And I added some black to a small area of the trunks.

#AASG30daychallenge day 15

5th August 2016

Wow! day 15, half way there. I've now added more trunks across the canvas, & another small one on the left side. I tried to cover up some of the umber on the trunks I painted yesterday but it looked a bit messy, so I added some umber back to them, but it is less than yesterday & I still like how they look. I outlined the first few trees on the left with a black paint pen.

#AASG30daychallenge day 14

4th August 2016

Today I used a credit card to drag Dina Wakley umber paint into the trunks from the outside edges. I love how this looks.

#AASG30daychallenge day 13

 3rd August 2016

Today I started work on some trees. I want to cover the canvas with Birch trees. I've never done anything like this before, so it is quite a challenge. I used sand colour paint mixed 50/50 with white paint. I started out just painting the trunks, but couldn't keep the lines straight, so I finished up using masking tape to define the lines.

#AASG30daychallenge day 12

1st August 2016

Today I splattered white, Black, Brown, Orange & Gold Paint. It doesn't show up much, but it's there.
